Harrel's two homers lift Mustangs over Trojans

WICHITA, Kan. — Morningside softball sophomore Mackenzi Harrel hit a three-run, game-winning home run on Sunday to defeat Dakota State 8-7.

Harrel homered to center field for her second blast of the season. Her home run was set up with a Paige Schuster infield single with one out. Ellie Gengler singled to become the second baserunner of the inning.

Harrel was 4-for-4 with five RBIs, marking the second Mustang to do that on Sunday. (Addyson Maxell had five RBIs in the victory against York.) The sophomore from Lincoln, Neb., also homered to put Morningside on the board during the second inning.

The Mustangs had 13 hits. Jenna Skradski and Schuster had two hits each. Harrel, Skradski, and Maxell also had a double.

Jordan Skradski earned the win, pitching two innings in relief. Skradski faced nine batters, and struck out four. Bralen Biddlecome started the game in the circle.
