Ottawa, Kan.- The Bethany College Swedes were on the road at Ottawa University, Saturday, December 7th taking on the Braves in a weekend matchup.
1st: The first quarter would be the lowest scoring quarter in the game for the Swedes who scored 11 points to Ottawa's 13 points.
2nd: Bethany picked it up in the second quarter but weren't able to take the lead. The score at the end of the quarter, the Swedes-27, the Braves-28.
3rd: Coming out of the break, the Swedes kicked it into high gear and took the lead after outscoring the Braves, 22 to 12 points. The score going into the fourth quarter, 49-40, the Swedes up by nine points.
4th: Bethany kept up their momentum, and scored an additional 22 points in the fourth quarter and contained the Braves' offense, only allowing them to score 13 points. Final score, 71-53, the Swedes win by 18.
Notable stats include, Jaden Newfarmer with 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 16 points, Emily Green with 3 steals, and 4 assists, and Janae Black-Harmon with 13 rebounds and 10 points.
