Milligan, Tenn. – The Union Commonwealth University volleyball team played at Milligan on Friday night. The Bulldogs fell short 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-18).
Emily Shumaker led Union in kills with eight, while Raquel Kessler tallied six. Maddy McGaughey registered 14 of UCU's 22 assists.
Kessler led Union in digs with nine, while McGaughey recorded seven. McKenna Pickett and Lain Prather each tallied six digs, while Nicole Almestica accounted for five. Luisa Slompo was tied for the most solo blocks by any player in the matchup with two, while leading in assisted blocks with three.
The Bulldogs are now 8-13 (6-5 AAC) this season, while Milligan is 13-7 (8-3 AAC). Up next for UCU is a road game against Pikeville on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 11:00 a.m.
