Drovers Extend Win Streak and Blank the Bluejays

CHICKASHA, Okla. – Tuesday evening, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (3-0, 0-0 SAC) extended their win streak to three with a 3-0 victory against Tabor College (0-1-1, 0-0 KCAC). The Drovers were in full control for the entire contest, and the margin of victory could have easily been greater if it was not for a solid goalkeeping performance for the Bluejays.

 The game was scoreless for the opening 30 minutes, but the Drovers were finally able to get on the scoreboard as Clara Rodriguez found the back of the net, off an assist from Lova Nilsson. USAO remained in a one-goal lead going into halftime. 

Following the break, the Drovers continued to dominate possession of the ball and strewtched their lead to 2-0 in the 65^th minute, as Paula Casajus took a long shot from the left corner of the box and put the shot over the keeper's head. Ashlee Davison was credited with an assist on the strike from Casajus. USAO's final goal came in the 77^th minute, as they struck for another long shot, this time off the foot of Emali Goulas.

As a team, USAO attempted 27 shots, with 13 being on goal, while Tabor attempted only two shots, with one being on target. The Drovers were whistled for four fouls, while the Bluejays committed eight infractions.  

Ashlyn Lonberg got the start for USAO between the pipes and earned her third win of the season, stopping one shot in the process. With the win, Lonberg improves her career win-loss record to 14-1. Caitlin Bishop relieved Lonberg for the final 21 minutes of the contest and did not face any shot attempts.

The Drovers return to the pitch on Saturday, August 31 as they host a showdown against Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas). Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 PM CT at McLaughlin Field.
