DEFIANCE, Ohio - The home opener for the Defiance Yellow Jackets women's soccer team resulted in a 6-0 loss to the Midway Eagles in this non-conference game held at Winsper-Knobel Field on Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets (0-3) struggle to find the back of the net continued as they remain without a goal through their first three contests of the season.
Turning Point
Taylor Osborne made her first collegiate start in goal for Defiance, recording five saves in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Eagles did manage, however, to break through in the 12th minute on a goal from Haylee Applegate with an assist from Cameron Banfield. The Eagles followed up with another as Anna Kneisley scored just six minutes later off a pass from Maggie Sauer. Defiance then conceded an own goal in the 30th minute.
The Eagles scored three more times in the second half with Applegate scoring her second goal as well as Evie Clare securing one score as well. The Eagles capped it off with a penalty kick by Maggie Sauer to give the Eagles their sixth goal of the afternoon.

- Reagan Camp led the DC charge with three total shots and one on goal.
- The two teams played a clean game with only seven fouls between them, and only one against the Yellow Jackets.
