UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor fell 4-0 against RV Campbellsville (5-0-0) on Saturday afternoon in a scoreline that flattered the opponents.
Moriah Dunham took two shots, with one on target, as she shifted slightly upfield into a deep midfield position and did admirably for the Trojans.
The Tigers scored a pair of nicely worked team goals in the first half to take a two-goal advantage into the break.
Taylor was right with the Tigers in the first stanza but couldn't find the back of the net after firing nine shots and four on goal. The Trojans were also dominant in the corner department, taking six before halftime compared to zero for Campbellsville.
The second saw the Trojans continue to press for a goal and play farther up the pitch. A continued effort yielded 11 corners, but the final touch evaded TU.
Campbellsville continued their torrid start to the season and scored two more in the second half, coming close to their 4.2 goals per game average.
The final stats showed the team even play, with the main difference Campbellsville's terrific finishing. Taylor took 15 shots compared to 20 for the Tigers and had five on target against six for Campbellsville.
RV Taylor (1-2-2) closes out its non-league schedule with a matchup against Defiance (0-4-0) on Wednesday, September 11, with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 pm.
