No. 24 Benedictine earns 3-0 win over Pride

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Starting their final weekend of matches for the 2024 season, the Clarke University women's volleyball team dropped a three-set match to No. 24 Benedictine College in the Kehl Center on Friday night.

The Ravens produced an extremely efficient .294 hitting percentage on the night on their way to 25-20, 25-15, and 25-15 set wins with each of those sets finishing with 16 or more BC kills and a hitting percentage at .237 or better.

Clarke struggled on their end to produce consistent offense to a .097 hitting percentage after a somewhat productive first set at .182 but Benedictine would take a 20-19 set lead for CU and score the final six points behind the servie of Hokulani Sagapolu that included two aces and two attack errors from the Pride.

Sagapolu was one of five members of the Ravens attack to finish with seven or more kills as she finished with eight kills and a match-high 16 digs while Mahala Sewell led all players with 13 kills on 23 swings for a .478 hitting percentage as she was also supported by 10 kills from Winny Harris, nine from Maura Lickteig, and seven from Regan Bruggeman.

Three front members of the Pride finished with positive hitting percentages, led by senior Rachel Haubert's eight kills on 28 swings with only one error while also producing the team-high of 12 digs as both Kortney Harms and Kelsey NeCollins had three kills apiece with NeCollins adding four blocks and Harms finishing with nine assists and nine digs.

Clarke women's volleyball will be back on their home court on Saturday when they host Park University for a 2:00 p.m. CT schedule first serve in the Kehl Center between the Pride and Pirates.
