Pilots Dominate Huston-Tillotson, 77-48, for 20th Win of the Season

AUSTIN, Texas – The Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) women's basketball team continued their dominant run through the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC), securing a 77-48 road victory over Huston-Tillotson University on Thursday night. With the win, the Pilots improve to 20-3 overall and 19-1 in conference play.

LSUS wasted no time setting the tone, using defensive pressure and efficient scoring to build an early lead. Selma Markisic led the offensive charge with 18 points and three rebounds, while Paula Gonzalez Herrero followed closely behind, contributing 17 points, five rebounds, and three assists.

The Pilots owned the glass, thanks to a monster performance from Helena Galunic, who posted a 16-point, 16-rebound double-double, including 10 defensive boards. Rachel Emmanuel also made her presence felt with 10 rebounds and four steals, while Alexis Brown orchestrated the offense with nine assists and four steals, keeping LSUS in complete control.

As a team, LSUS shot 45.8% from the field, 38.1% from beyond the arc, and 33.3% from the free-throw line, outpacing Huston-Tillotson in every category. The Rams were led by Summer Thomas, who finished with 15 points and six rebounds, but HTU struggled to find offensive rhythm, shooting just 33.3% from the floor and from three-point range.

The Pilots now turn their focus to their next matchup as they travel to face North American University on Saturday, Feb. 8, with tip-off set for 1 p.m.
